We at the Vista Fire Department would like to congratulate Mike Peck on his completion of the Recruit Firefighter program at the Connecticut Fire Academy in Windsor, Connecticut. Mike Peck was hired by the Westport (CT) Fire Department back on December 1st, 2014. Mike was a member of Recruit Class 55 ("The Frozen 55").
The Connecticut Recruit Firefighter program is described as a 14-week, 70-day course that helps new Firefighter recruits develop the knowledge, abilities, and skills needed for a new firefighter to preform entry-level tasks under direct supervision.
Mike Peck joins fellow Vista Firefighter's Sean Kelly & Ex-Vista FD Chief Bill Dingee (who retired as the Westport FD Assistant Chief back in November 2014) as members who have served and are currently serving in the Westport (CT) Fire Department.
Mike joined the Vista Fire Department back in February 2007 and currently serves as our Fire Captain & Training Officer.
