We at the Vista Fire Department would like to congratulate Firefighter Olivia Buzzeo on completing her probationary period in the Department through the VFD Mentor Program!

Since joining in June 2017, Firefighter Buzzeo has completed the Firefighter I course at the Westchester County Fire Training Center in Valhalla, NY and has become an Ambulance driver in the Vista Fire Department. Firefighter Olivia Buzzeo actively participates during calls & drills and has been mentored throughout her probationary period by Foreman Karen Lilly.

The VFD Mentor Program is a process where new members are paired up with a senior member to help guide them through their probationary period in the Department. This program was developed to help transition new members into the Department by understanding call response, attending weekly Monday drills and preparing them for classes they may be taking in their 1st year with the Department.
