This Sunday morning we held an "Advanced Firefighter Skills Class," an "MPO & Firefighter Fundamentals Class" and Driver Training for our members who are becoming Apparatus Drivers on Tanker 4, Engine 142 & our Ambulances.
This Sunday's "Advanced Firefighter Skills Class" focused on how to perform F.A.S.T. (Firefighter Assist & Search Team) skills by going over how to do a stair carry for down Firefighters. This type of training is what will help our Firefighters who have completed various Firefighting classes to keep up with their skills.
This Sunday's "MPO & Firefighter Fundamentals Class" focused on how to properly don & doff their Firefighting gear, how to perform vehicle stabilization & extrication operations and our prospective apparatus drivers & MPOs learned how to properly operate the Engine 143 pump panel. This type of training is what will help our Firefighters who plan on attending the New York State Firefighter I program succeed in their class and for our Firefighters who have completed Firefighter I to keep up with their skills.
