Last night, the Vista Fire Department wrapped up its 2024 drill schedule with a screening of the documentary Brotherhood, followed by an end-of-year slideshow prepared by Assistant Chief Brian Porco. Members also enjoyed a wonderful dinner to cap off the year thanks to our kitchen committee.
Concluding our drill schedule with a documentary like Brotherhood has become a tradition for the Vista Fire Department, as the film delivers inspiring messages about the importance of teamwork in achieving a common goal. The "brotherhood/sisterhood" of emergency services holds special significance for the Vista Fire Department, and this documentary beautifully highlights the strong bond among First Responders.
In 2024, we conducted 38 drills on Monday nights as part of our all-volunteer organization's commitment to training. The time and dedication our members invest in training—not just during Monday night drills, but also on Sunday mornings and through various classes—demonstrates the immense pride each member of the Vista Volunteer Fire Department takes in serving the Vista Fire District.
