This week's Monday drills were an "Extrication & Stabilization Webinar" for our Firefighters and an "EMS CME Webinar" for our EMTs. Both of these drills had our members logging onto their computers due to the COVID-19 pandemic as the Vista Fire Department continues with holding online learning.

The "Extrication & Stabilization Webinar" drill had our Vista Firefighters reviewing how to properly operate during a motor vehicle accident. Vista Firefighting personnel received an overview on how to properly stabilize a vehicle, a review on our hydraulic tools and the best way to remove a patient during a motor vehicle accident. This type of training has now prepared our members to work in the safest and most efficient way possible for the best outcome of the patient during a motor vehicle accident response.

The "EMS CME Webinar" drill had our Vista EMS personnel reviewing the mental health of the EMT, transporting pediatric patients and patient lifting, moving & transporting for this month's CME class. The continuing medical education (CME) program helps train our Vista EMS personnel throughout the year so they can continue to serve our community at it's highest level by keeping up on several skills.
