This week's Monday Night Drill was a "New Holmatro E-Battery Operated Tools Lecture" drill for our Firefighters and an "Assisting the Paramedic" drill for our EMTs.
The "New Holmatro E-Battery Operated Tools Lecture" drill had our Vista Firefighters going over the new extrication tools that will be going into service shortly. Vista Firefighters received an overview on each of the new Holmatro E-Battery tools and how they can operate while on an incident. This type of training is part of the next several weeks to review and use the new extrication tools before we put them into service.
The "Assisting the Paramedic" drill led by Westchester Medic Andrea Zambrano saw our EMS personnel go over what the Paramedics need before and during care as they transport patients to local hospitals. Vista EMS personnel received an overview on the LifePak ECG machine, the paramedic jumpbag and assisting with fluid bags for patients. This type of training will continue to help our EMS personnel have a strong working relationship with the Paramedics when operating on an EMS scene and we would like to thank Paramedic Zambrano for joining us last night to help train our EMS personnel.
