The Vista Fire Department would like to congratulate FF/EMT Candidate Andrew Korman on completing his probationary period in the Department through the VFD Mentor Program!

Since joining the Vista Fire Department, FF/EMT Candidate Andrew Korman has been cleared as a driver on our Ambulances and Engine 142 while preparing himself to take the EMT-Basic course this month. FF/EMT Candidate Andrew Korman actively participates during calls & drills and has been mentored throughout his probationary period by Foreman Isabel Fry.

The Vista Fire Department mentor program is a process where new members are paired up with a senior member to help guide them through their probationary period in the Department. This program was developed to help transition new members into the Department by understanding call response, attending weekly Monday drills and preparing them for classes they may be taking in their first year with the Department.
