Last night the Vista Fire Department wrapped up their 2022 drill schedule by watching the documentary "A Good Job: Stories of the FDNY" followed by our end of the year slideshow put together by Assistant Chief Brian Porco. Our members also enjoyed a nice dinner courtesy of the VFD Auxiliary to finish up this year.
Wrapping up our drill schedule by watching a documentary such as "A Good Job: Stories of the FDNY" has been a tradition in the Vista Fire Department for several years due to the positive messages the film sends regarding the importance of working together to accomplish a common goal. The "Brother/Sister-hood" of the emergency services is extremely important to the Vista Fire Department and this documentary shows the strong bond among First Responders.
In 2022, we held 36 drills on Monday nights throughout the year for our all-Volunteer organization. The time and sacrifice our members put into training on a yearly basis not only on Monday nights for drill, but throughout the year on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings and by taking various classes & courses, shows the great pride every member of the VFD puts into serving the Vista Fire District.
