The Vista Fire Department is proud to announce the following Foremen taking office effective May 1, 2024 and lasting until April 30, 2025 after being appointed by Chief Jeff Peck for this upcoming fiscal year:

Foreman Isabel Fry - Ambulance 84B1
Foreman Leslie Smith - Ambulance 84B2

Here is some information on the Vista Fire Department Foremen for this upcoming fiscal year:

Lead Foreman Michael Peck - Lead Foreman Peck has been with the Vista FD since February 2007, winning the VFD Rookie of the Year award in 2007-2008, the VFD Firefighter of the Year award in 2008-2009 & 2011-2012 and oversees the day-to-day operations for Engine 141. Lead Foreman Peck is back as a Foreman after serving as a Line Officer for the last 13 years.

Foreman Ryan Ruggiero - Foreman Ruggiero has been with the Vista FD since November 2015, winning the VFD Rookie of the Year award in 2016-2017, the VFD Firefighter of the Year award in 2017-2018, the VFD EMT of the Year award in 2019-2020 and oversees the day-to-day operations for Engine 142. Foreman Ruggiero has been a Foreman in the Vista Fire Department since May 2020.

Foreman Kyla Whalen - Foreman Whalen has been with the Vista FD since October 2019, winning the VFD Rookie of the Year award in 2020-2021 and oversees the day-to-day operations for Engine 143. Foreman Whalen has been a Foreman in the Vista Fire Department since May 2023.

Foreman Brian Sferra - Foreman Sferra has been with the Vista FD since December 2019, winning the VFD Firefighter of the Year award in 2021-2022 and oversees the day-to-day operations for Tanker 4. Foreman Sferra has been a Foreman in the Vista Fire Department since May 2021.

Foreman Isabel Fry - Foreman Fry has been with the Vista FD since February 2016, winning the VFD EMT of the Year award in 2022-2023 and oversees the day-to-day operations for Ambulance 84B1. Foreman Fry has been a Foreman in the Vista Fire Department since June 2022.

Foreman Leslie Smith - Foreman Smith has been with the Vista FD since August 2002, winning the VFD EMT of the Year award in 2005-2006 and oversees the day-to-day operations for Ambulance 84B2. Foreman Smith has been a Foreman in the Vista Fire Department since May 2022.

All Foremen positions are appointed by the Chief of Department.
