The Vista Fire Department would like to congratulate EMT Amanda Aalto on completing her probationary period in the Department through the VFD Mentor Program!

Since joining the Vista Fire Department, EMT Amanda Aalto has been cleared as a riding EMT. EMT Amanda Aalto actively participates during calls & drills and has been mentored throughout her probationary period by Lieutenant Eleanor Hersam.

The Vista Fire Department mentor program is a process where new members are paired up with a senior member to help guide them through their probationary period in the Department. This program was developed to help transition new members into the Department by understanding call response, attending weekly Monday drills and preparing them for classes they may be taking in their first year with the Department.
